From the first warm days the Ukrainian Vegetable Group team heads out into the fields of the Odesa region: the carrot season begins — one of the key crops in the UVG production range.
Sowing carrots is a precise technological stage that determines the quality of the entire harvest. Agronomists prepare the soil in advance, select proven seed hybrids and plan field work around weather conditions and the characteristics of each plot.
Fertile soils and the long growing season of southern Ukraine make a steady, high-quality harvest possible. Rational irrigation and control at every stage of the growing cycle help keep the produce uniform and market-ready.
“A good season starts long before the harvest — with the right sowing and attention to every detail in the field.”
Bohdan Tkachenko, UVG chief agronomist
After harvesting, the carrots go into modern vegetable stores with microclimate control, which keeps the produce fresh all year round and allows steady supply to retail chains, processors and export markets.
The carrot season is only the start of the year for the UVG team. Ahead lies work with a wide range of vegetables and the further growth of the company's production and storage capacity.
