Soils and climate of the Odesa region
UVG's production is based in the Biliaivka district of the Odesa region — an area with a long growing season, a mild climate and fertile black soils. These conditions allow a wide range of vegetable crops to be grown and several waves of marketable produce to be obtained through the year.
Proximity to ports and the border, a well-developed road network and access to water resources make this location a new hub of Ukrainian vegetable farming — convenient for both the domestic market and export.
Selecting hybrids and seed
Each season begins with selecting seed hybrids for the specific crop and for the field's soil and climate conditions. We choose hybrids with an eye to shelf life, marketable appearance and suitability for long storage — so the produce withstands logistics and storage without losing quality.
This approach lays down predictable quality even before sowing and lets us plan volumes for the needs of specific partners for the whole season.
Care through the season
During the growing period UVG's agronomists monitor plant nutrition, protection against diseases and pests, and irrigation. Continuous monitoring of the crops allows a timely response to weather and phytosanitary challenges and keeps crop development even across the whole area — the basis for the even calibre of the future harvest.
Harvest, sorting and grading
The harvested crop is sorted and graded to a single commercial standard. Produce is separated by calibre and quality, the non-marketable part is rejected, and batches are prepared for storage or shipment. This way the chain receives an even, predictable product — from the first crate to the last.
What this gives partners
Because growing, storage and logistics are concentrated in one place, the partner gets a single point of accountability for quality and volumes instead of a chain of intermediaries. This makes it possible to guarantee steady supplies of fresh Ukrainian vegetables all year round — and to plan cooperation ahead with confidence in the result.
